Towmaster has once again participated in a successful blood drive for the American Red Cross. On May 5th, 31 Towmaster employees went to the Litchfield Civic Center to donate blood as a team for the Litchfield Community Blood Drive. Our team exceeded our goal of donating 30 pints of blood. We even had 7 first time donors from our team join us for this drive.
Towmaster Community Participation
Participating in American Red Cross Blood Drives is not new to the Towmaster team. We often host them at our own facilities to make it easy and fast for our team to donate.
Contributing to the American Red Cross is a part of our overall mission of supporting our Litchfield community. We also assist local technical education programs to encourage a new generation of manufacturers as well as other community initiatives including donating PPE and fabricating IV stands for the local hospital.
The Importance of the American Red Cross
Every 2 seconds, someone in America is in need of blood or platelets, with nearly 7,000 units of platelets and 10,000 units of plasma needed every day.

Blood donations are used for an impressive amount of life-saving treatments. In addition to being used for emergency surgeries after accidents or other trauma, blood transfusions are used to treat patients with cancer, patients with Sickle Cell, burn patients, and patients with a variety of chronic illnesses and diseases.
Future Blood Drives
Due to the success of this blood drive and previous blood drives, the Towmaster team is planning on continuing to offer, and participate in these events in the future.
“We are so happy our team continually shows up for such important events like a blood drive for the American Red Cross,” said Tonya Fuller, Human Resources Manager at Towmaster Trailers. “This is an important part of giving back to the community, and we are proud to continue to give life-saving blood!”
