Tanor Nelson is one of the newest members of the Towmaster team. He joined us in January and has already made himself an invaluable part of our crew. Tanor graduated from St. Cloud University with a Mechanical Engineering degree, but that wasn’t his original intention. When he enrolled, he had the intention of going to medical school to become a doctor, but when a physics professor saw his potential, Tanor was talked into pursuing mechanical engineering– and we’re so glad he did!
Tanor also served the country for five years as a navigation electronics technician in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. When asked how he has benefited from military service, Tanor said, “The Navy expanded my self confidence and taught me to overcome the fear of trying something outside of my comfort zone.”
Tanor loves the engineering field, and when he is not solving the unsolvable, you’ll find him on his motorcycle or in a fishing boat. When he travels, his favorite destination is the Black Hills of South Dakota. “It’s like everything the Rocky Mountains has to offer in a smaller, easier to manage package. It’s a beautiful place.” Tanor also enjoys ribeye steaks as his favorite food (seared on a hot grill, medium-rare), and Dumb & Dumber as his favorite movie. His favorite TV show? The A-Team, fool!
He lives in his hometown of New London, MN with his wife of eighteen years, Janet, and their three children, ages fifteen, thirteen, and ten. His favorite thing so far about Towmaster has been the pride of the employees and how much they love Towmaster. Welcome aboard, Tanor! We are proud to have you on our team!
